The MSS Security Vaccination Incentive Program (MSS VIP): How far we’ve come.

In August 2021, MSS Security launched the MSS Vaccination Incentive Program (VIP), incentivising our nearly 7000 frontline and support staff to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as they were eligible. The MSS Vaccination Incentive Program (VIP) was open to all staff, guided by their doctor’s medical advice, to get double vaccinated before 31 December 2021.

MSS Security Managing Director Geoff Alcock said MSS is proud to have led the way, being one of the first Australian businesses to commit to such a program, and delighted that over the span of almost five months, the MSS VIP achieved significant results.

Those who partook could register and upload their vaccination certificate into the MSS Security website or Gateway app. From there, staff were instantly rewarded with a $100 gift card and the chance to win other cash prizes.

$1000 weekly draws and two significant prizes of $10,000 saw MSS Security contributing over $500,000 in the program.

So many of our staff were grateful to receive these incentives, and we were equally pleased to be able to do so.

Peter Gwynn, a Security Officer from Tasmania, was thrilled to find out he was one of the lucky winners who won a weekly $1000 draw.

“It means so much to my wife and myself. Getting vaccinated was an easy decision, and I feel so good that I am not only protecting myself and my family but also the general public that I deal with on a day-to-day basis. What to do with $1000? My passion when I have time off is fishing, so I will be purchasing a couple of pretty classy rods and reels which hopefully will help me catch some big ones,” he said.

Julian Beresford-Wylie, a Security Officer from Queensland, thanked MSS Security for encouraging staff to get vaccinated.

“The money will be given to two families living in Vietnam to help pay rent, electricity and water as they have not worked since the COVID-19 lockdown and are under the threat of eviction,” he said.

Throughout the pandemic, our approach has been guided by Commonwealth, and State Government Health Departments’ advice, including that vaccination is the key to severely reducing the impact of COVID-19 on individuals and the broader community.

“We continue to put the health and wellbeing of our fantastic team, their families and our clients at the forefront of all we do. This significant investment is another clear demonstration of our resolve in this regard,” Managing Director Geoff Alcock said.

“It’s been a long journey, but we are very proud of what’s been achieved. MSS Security always puts the wellbeing of its employees first, and when the time came for us to help our team get through a very tough challenge, we stepped up.”

Although we are one step closer to safer living and working conditions by being vaccinated, the COVID-19 battle isn’t over yet. Don’t forget your booster shot to continue to be safe in all environments.

MSS Security is very proud of everyone who participated in the program and was vaccinated. We look forward to a safe 2022 for all.

Thank you.
