Protecting The Beatles – 60 Years On

They were the biggest band in the world at the time, and on this day, 60 years ago The Beatles began their one and only Australian tour!

Touring Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide and playing 2 shows a night, keeping The Beatles safe was essential. This was never more apparent than when they landed in Adelaide and they were greeted by more than 300,000 fans, believed to be the biggest crowd at the time to assemble for The Beatles.

As one of Australia’s leading providers of security services, MSS Security was selected with protecting these four young men from the overwhelming excitement of Beatlemania, which had quickly taken hold of Australia.

Things may have looked a little different back then, particularly our uniforms. But as we reflect on how much has changed, we can proudly say that the way in which our security personnel operate and focus on the safety of people (famous or not), we know it has always been with the greatest sense of pride and importance. Founder of MSS Security, Devon Minchin, took personal responsibility for this major security operation, ensuring that every measure was in place to safeguard the band.

MSS Security proudly honours this opportunity, holding pride in protecting the safety of people and our communities.
