Prepared for Anything: MSS Aviation Services in Action

This week, MSS Aviation Services NSW was proud to participate in two full-field Airport Emergency Exercises, hosted by Armidale Regional Airport and Coffs Harbour Airport.

These important exercises, mandated by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), are designed to test each airport’s emergency response capabilities and ensure all relevant stakeholders are well-prepared for a potential aviation incident.

The exercises were strongly supported by key emergency service agencies, including Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance Service, State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service (RFS), and various local emergency services.

A special thanks to the local volunteers who acted as passengers involved in the staged ‘incidents.’ Their commitment and surprisingly convincing acting brought realism to the scenarios and helped all agencies involved gain valuable insights and hands-on experience.

At MSS Security, we understand the importance of preparation, especially in high-risk environments like airports. Participating in these exercises not only reinforces our operational readiness but strengthens our collaboration with the wider emergency response community.

We extend our sincere thanks to Armidale Regional Airport and Coffs Harbour Airport for inviting MSS Security to contribute to these critical training activities. While we hope these situations never arise, we are proud to be ready.

Stay safe, stay prepared.
