Be Bold for International Women’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s Day (IWD) and MSS Security wants its employees to Be Bold For Change.

#BeBoldForChange is IWD’s 2017 theme and the aim is to encourage individuals and organisations to take ground-breaking actions that truly drive real change for women.

As part of our promotion of IWD 2017, MSS Security has posted the IWD 2017 #BeBoldForChange pledge on our website. We’d like all of our employees to visit and choose a cause to get behind; there are five to choose from.

We would also like to celebrate your ‘Bold Move’. When you make you pledge, download the #BeBoldForChange selfie card from http://bit.ly/beboldcards, take a photo of you or your team holding it and share your pictures with us. Email your photos to Margaret Stinson, General Manager People and Culture, at [email protected]

MSS Security has an ongoing commitment to gender diversity and we are working to make 25% of our workforce female by 2020. To that end, 18.8% of the company’s hires have been females in the financial year to date.

At present 17.5% of MSS Security’s overall workforce is female, but in the Aviation division we are proud to say that the female participation rate is 34%.

IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It also promotes action to accelerate gender parity, because the World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won’t close entirely until 2186 – this is too long to wait.
